Fizzy Non-Alcoholic Strawberry Ale

Fizzy non alcoholic strawberry goodness… if it there was no winter I would probably drink this (and variations) forever…

2 cup Mason Jar

1 pair of Scissors (optional)

1/2 cup Defrosted Strawberries

1/2 cup Frozen Strawberries Slices

1/4 cup of Aloe Vera Juice

1/4 cup of Ginger Ale

  1. Add the defrosted strawberries to a mason Jar and cut into a small pieces with scissors.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and close the lid.
  3. Invert the jar twice and enjoy!!!!

*Note* Defrosted strawberries give off more flavor than fresh strawberries.

*Note2* Use any fruit but the creamy ones (sorry mango and banana lovers this one isn’t for you… though you can try at your own risk).

Basic Mashed Potatoes

Basic… probably too basic. If you have beef stew with this… or chinese bbq pork! Even just plain gravy works too (not making it unless you call JaJang gravy).

Time (including prep): ~15min

Serving: ~3 cups

  • 1 Sponge
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Pot
  • 1 Masher/Fork
  • 1 Spatula (optional)

  • 250ml Cold water
  • 600g Potatoes
  • 62.5ml – 125ml Milk (Any type works fine here)

  1. Wash potatoes thoroughly. Use a sponge to scrub away all excess dirt.
  2. Cut potatoes into chunks (approximately 2.5cm cubes) and toss them into a pot.
  3. Add 250ml of water to the pot and bring to a rolling boil.
  4. Boil for 5 minutes lid partially open.
  5. Turn off the heat and and close the lid. Let the potatoes steam for 5 minutes or until a fork can easily pierce through.
  6. Mash potatoes into a paste.
  7. Mix in milk a little at a time until desired texture is reached.

*NOTE* Add garlic, herbs or butter to the pot before boiling for an infused flavour. Mix in any vegetables at the end for an more interesting flavour.

*NOTE2* If you are having trouble with the step 4. No worries, just find yourself a pair of chopsticks and place them on the edges of the pot and prop up the lid that way.

So hard right? Happy eating!  ^.^/

Basic Icebox Cookies

Crunchy cookies lightly sweetened with honey. You can add whatever you want to suit your taste. Favourites: matcha, cocoa, coffee and pomegranate jam.

Time: 20min or less

Portions: 32 5cm diameter cookies

  • 1 Food Scale
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Knife / Spatula
  • Cling Wrap
  • Scissors
  • 1 Bowl / Cup with a flat bottom
  • 1 Baking Tray

  • 120g Flour
  • 60g Honey
  • 40g Margarine
  • 3-4ml Vanilla Extract

  1. Cream margarine honey and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Add flour and mix until a stiff dough forms (the dough should come off the bowl cleanly in one big lump).
  3. Shape the dough into a log and wrap with cling wrap.
  4. Place the dough in the freezer and chill for ~5 min.
  5. Pull the dough out of the freezer and cut into 32 equal pieces.
  6. Flatten each piece to approximately 0.5cm thick with a flat surface.
  7. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  8. Place cookies in a baking tray and bake for 10-12min or until the edges turn light golden.

*NOTE* These cookies have no expanding feature. They turn out just fine even if they cook touching each other.

*NOTE2* Any cookies thicker than 0.75cm results in a rock. Trust me do not try it. It will be a pain to finish even if they are edible.

That’s it! Happy eating! ^.^
